Founded in Manchester, Lowry Brass is an award winning brass quintet consisting of dynamic young professional musicians from around Europe. As recipients of the 2015 Phillip Jones Brass Ensemble Prize, the group is dedicated to maintaining the highest standard of performance whilst stretching the boundaries of the brass chamber idiom. Their repertoire ranges from the Renaissance to music of our time and the group has commissioned various new works by up-and-coming composers.

On top of their successes, the group has also enjoyed numerous collaborations with other groups including supporting a concert given by the world famous Black Dyke Band as well as working with some of the leading figures in the brass world such as Zoltan Kiss, John Miller and John Dickinson.

A truly international ensemble, with members based in Oslo, Bergen, Wales, Scotland and England, Lowry Brass also enjoyed further success as finalists in the prestigious Christopher Rowland prize for chamber music.

Looking to the future the quintet strongly believes in continuing the fine tradition of brass playing and education in the wider community of Manchester and the North of England.
